Helix

Constrained to my wearisome bed,
Secrets and lies locked in my head,
What’s the poignancy in it all,
Times sweet embrace is our downfall.
Rotating round a dying sun,
Reflecting on games we have won,
Where’s the meaning in what we do,
Ascending ranks, tying our shoe.
I wake up early, stay up late,
Is this our true stagnated fate?
There must be more than each eye sees,
Live our stale realities.
Some to vindictive gods they pray,
C’est La Vie, go endure their day.
Helixed circles and vicious times,
Love and hate, our internal crimes.
Caffeine invokes a lust in us,
No ones lacking a single fuss.
Hollow sedimentary state,
Pierce into my ennui and relate,
I want to spelunk those around,
Remember when we’re in the ground.
My superficial dealings stray,
Conflagrate soon as I’m away,
Celestial purge for my soul,
Ambitious tidings make it whole.
But what’s the value in it all,
The revolving helical ball,
And the infinite space that bends,
Who’s left to thank us when time ends?
